Claim Your Power

My guides are helping me write a book, and right now it is in the form of lots of articles that they will continue to flesh out. I've decided to start sharing some of their insights in this blog, because I believe their messages are so powerful. Here's one about claiming your personal power. The italicized black words are from my guides.

Claim Your Power

Edwene Gaines, a great speaker and author of 4 Spiritual Principles of Prosperity, begins her speeches with, “I am a woman of power.” I love that. The first time I heard her say that, I thought, “Yeah! Me too!” Claiming our power is an essential step toward manifesting the life of your dreams. If you don’t believe you have the power to manifest, how are you going to do it?
You have the wisdom and guidance of your inner voice. You have the ability to choose your thoughts and actions.

The power to create what you want is within you, it is not outside of you. You do not need to ask outside forces, although it may help you to clarify your expectations. Just know that when you are saying things to something out side of yourself, you are saying it to an extension of yourself, just as you are an extension of God, God is an extension of you. It is all one Source. So when we say state your intentions and ask for what you want, you are declaring it to the Universe, which is part of you as you are part of it. In essence, you are declaring your intentions and expectations to the part of yourself that creates. Many times in your life you have been made to feel powerless and out of control, but that is never the case. You have power over your thoughts, beliefs, what is in your life, what is not in your life, every aspect of your experience. It is also your choice to be stuck in the past or to live in the moment. It is your choice to feel like a victim or feel like a manifester. So ask for what you want, believe it will appear, expect it in Divine Timing, and then continue on with your living. You may find, as our Melanie did this morning, that when you start to ask God for what you want, you begin to realize all the things you previously wanted and asked for are in your life now. That is the truth. Everything in your life now you asked for.

What about abuse?

Some people as adults believe they are not worthy, and so they put up with abuse in their relationships. But I know you are asking about children.

And random events like rape.

Nothing is random in our Universe. Everything is perfectly timed and coordinated. Changes can be made, but even those changes in direction are just as quickly organized and coordinated. So children who suffer abuse. Every person comes to your planet with a mission and set of goals. They have things they need to learn while in this experience, and sometimes they may have unpleasant experiences to reach the level of learning and experience they have decided in their lives. It is very intricately woven. Just as you experienced in your past life regression of being someone who raped. In this life, people you care deeply about have experienced rape, and you are seeing the flip side of the experience. Each person’s path is different, and the reasoning for each path is intricate, vaired, and detailed. We cannot possibly give one answer to fit all cases except to say that there are many journeys and many experiences. Each journey and experience helps guide someone along their path of spiritual development. Also, you cannot look at someone else’s experience and call it good or bad. You do not know how that experience plays out in the span of their existence. Things are not often as they appear, and often it is the perspective that makes all the difference.

I don’t know that that is a satisfactory answer for people who have experienced things that have been tragic and horrible to them.

To someone who is currently in the midst of pain and suffering, no answer is satisfactory.

Cheetahs

The other night I had a really cool dream I'd like to share. I was in a valley with tall hills on either side of me. There was a cheetah running on the hillside to my right, and I was scared of it. I thought it was running and going to get me, so I ran toward the hillside on my left. Then I saw more cheetahs running on that hillside too. Then I didn't know where to run, but I felt fearful. Then the scene stopped, and I got the message that I would get to try the same scenario again with the option of behaving differently. The scene began again---I was in a valley and saw the cheetahs running frantically to my left and right. Even though I thought I should do something or run in case they were after me, I didn't move. I stood where I was and closed my eyes. I focused on the peace and stillness inside of me. As I focused inward, the world around me faded from my notice and I felt peace. Then I felt a softness on my fingertips. I opened my eyes and the cheetah was standing calmly next to me.

I know what this means to me. What does it mean to you?

Expectation

One of the things my guides have reminded me about many times is to expect what I want. Anytime I'm worried about how things will turn out or what's going to happen, they ask, "What do you expect?"

It's different than wanting. When we want something or a certain outcome, it still leaves the possibility that it won't happen. Plus, when we want, we manifest more wanting (not having). So they told me to expect what I want. They encouraged me to write an expectation list.

Now I do this daily in my head. But I've moved it to the next level. Sometimes things don't turn out exactly how I want them too, but they always turn out better. So instead of saying, "I expect that I will get that job," for example, I say, "I expect that everything is working out perfectly in my life and that I am being led along the perfect path for me." Or if I'm feeling impatient, "I expect that the Universe has perfect timing, and that includes me."

Then I feel a sense of peace because I know everything is working out perfectly and the "how it will happen" is not my job to figure out. I think a lot more people would dream and accomplish their dreams if they gave up worrying about how it would happen. I know that is a stumbling block I work with. All we have to do is set our expectations and follow our guidance.

Here is a message from my guides from 11/25/08 when I was worried about the direction my career was going and how it would all work out:

(I had just told my guides I couldn't see how everything was going to work out. I remembered a quote from John Edward's book about when he was frustrated before his first book was published. He said he was so close to the picture, he couldn't see how it was going to work out. Perspective is everything. Here's what my guides said when I told them I couldn't see my picture)

I know you can’t see it. It doesn’t mean it isn’t there. You think you’re doing this all alone, like you have to figure out and arrange for everything. Ask and expect our help. You’re not alone. We’re all here, and we’re all working. Expect us to do the things you want. Expect us to send you clients. Expect us to send you sources for money. Expect us to help you find joy. Expect us to find you the perfect house in the perfect time. You want to know if you can rely on us. Just do it. Then you know. The only way to know is to let go and trust. Just let go and rely on us to help you. EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN! EXPECT US TO FIND AND PRODUCE EVERYTHING YOU NEED. EXPECT THE MONEY TO FLOW IN. EXPECT CLIENTS. EXPECT GREATNESS. EXPECT WHAT YOU WANT. EXPECT IT!!!!

Dreams

Interpreting your dreams is another great way to receive guidance and gain clarity about situations in your life. The way to remember your dreams (if you don't already) is to affirm that you remember them before you go to sleep. There are many ways to do this. Here are some ideas:

1. Set your alarm 10 minutes earlier to make time to write your dream down.
2. Put a notebook and pen beside your bed to write your dream in.
3. Before you go to sleep, say to yourself, "When I wake up in the morning, I remember my dreams." (make sure to say "I remember" rather than "I will remember".)
4. Expect to remember your dreams. Expectation is so powerful.

What do you write down?
Anything you remember, including people, places, feelings, the weather, scenery, predominant colors.

Then what?
Check out dream interpretation sources. The website I use is http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/. Take each symbol in your dream and first figure out what you think it means. For example, if it was raining in your dream, what does rain mean to you? What feelings does it invoke? What does rain make you think of? Rain could mean any number of things depending on the person: cleansing and renewal, storms and hard times, raining on their parade, relief from drought. So figure out what it means to you first. If you're stumped or want other ideas, look up the symbol in a dream dictionary. If something sticks out in their interpretation as true for you, use it. If you don't agree with their interpretation, don't use it. Always follow your intuition and trust yourself first.

Once you've interpreted the symbols, look for the theme or overall meaning.

At first, it may take a while, depending on how thorough you are and if you use the dream dictionary for each item in your dream. Once you become more comfortable trusting your own interpretation, you will be able to get meaning from your dreams in a fraction of the time.

I have a word document for dreams. I write what I remember of the dream in black. I change the font color for the interpretation.

Dandelion Meditation

I was meditating the other day and was given a beautiful message. I was a dandelion seed floating in the air. You know the part with a seed on one end and white fluff on the other? I was drifting along in the breeze. But I wasn't randomly floating, even though it felt that way. The message I got during this was that all things in the world have a plan and purpose. Even each seed of the dandelion has a path that it will naturally follow. The seed doesn't have to worry about its path or how/where it will fall. It knows that each new direction, even though it may seem random, chaotic, or wayward is part of its perfect Divine journey in life. It just surrenders and goes with the flow with trust and acceptance. Everything is taken care of and watched over and attended to-----even each seed of a dandelion.

I told my boyfriend about my meditation, and he shared a popular Bible verse with me. I'm not big on Bible quoting, but this verse ties in perfectly.

Mathew 6:28-34 (King James Version)
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.

Merlin

One of the guides I see often is Merlin the Magician. He is very very cool. He's got sparkling crystal-blue eyes, long gray beard, deep purple hat and cloak with stars and moons on it...the works. His energy is very happy, light, and effervescent; it reminds me of champagne. He helps me with laws of metaphysics, shows me elements of my future, etc. I thought I'd share my most recent lesson with you. I don't know if these lessons or other things my guides say help anyone else other than me, but at least they can offer a sneak about the types of things your guides may talk to you about.

I was meditating and found myself in a forest looking at Merlin's house with him standing next to me. He turned to me and said, "Watch this!" He waved his wand at his cute cottage, and it disappeared. All that was left was a turtle in the middle of the house and a bright speck of light. I was astonished that it was gone. We walked around where the house used to be. Then I started to see lines of energy outlining the house and the bricks. It was like white lines of light very faintly outlining everything. Merlin said, “Now look,” and one by one, the bricks of the house filled the energy outline of the house until the physical form was there. He said it just looked like the house wasn’t there. The energy framework for it was already there. The physical form just had to be fit to it, one brick at a time, so we could see it.

I took this as a reminder that everything starts as a blueprint in energy. Every physical form, every relationship, every illness...everything. Thoughts and feelings create the energy, then more energy condenses to fill in the blueprint.

I had been talking to my guides about the home my boyfriend and I would like to have in the near future. They were telling me to continue to expect it and create it in my mind, because that's how the energy blueprint is created.

Why Spirit Guides?

Why Spirit Guides?

There are so many areas of psychic and spiritual development. So why have I decided to create a blog about Spirit Guides? I can’t say enough about how great they are and how they can help in every aspect of our lives. Nothing is too mundane for a Spirit Guide.

* A few weeks ago my alarm went off, and I decided I wanted to sleep for 15 more minutes. I didn’t want to roll over and reset my alarm, so I affirmed to myself, “I wake up at 8 o’clock.” Then, I went to sleep. It was such a fabulous sleep! You know when you’re so incredibly tired and each minute feels like an hour? That’s the kind of sleep I was having. Then, what seemed like a long time later, I saw a Spirit walk up to my side of the bed. He just stood there. I thought to myself that it must be 8 o’clock. I turned over, and sure enough, 8 on the dot. I thanked him. Then I went back to sleep :)

* Another time, I was about to get out of my car when the CD player started playing. Now, to clarify, my car was off at the time. I stopped getting out of the car and tried to figure out what was going on. I looked at the ignition just to make sure my keys weren’t still in there. None of the other lights in the car were on. My car was off. I decided it wasn’t right for the CD player (which had been off before the car was turned off) to start playing suddenly, so I thought maybe if I turned on and turned back off the car, that would solve the problem. When I went through my purse for the key to do just that, it wasn’t there. At some point between removing the key from the ignition and putting it in my purse, it dropped under my front seat. If my guides hadn’t started my CD player, I would have locked my keys in the car. I was so thankful!

I do a lot of stream-of-consciousness writing to get in touch with my guides. I just write whatever I hear without judging it. That is one clear way I get specific information. Sometimes if I haven’t done that in a while, they’ll start with, “Where have you been?” I’ve realized this is not to criticize me for not writing with them, but to let me know that THEY are always there, whether or not I choose to acknowledge them. Sometimes I start thinking I need to meditate forever or concentrate to draw them to me. Over and over they have let me know they are always here for me.

As far as how they feel toward us, one of my guides put it in a most beautiful way the night before last:

We are surrounding you and loving you. At night, you are wrapped in a sphere of light. We guard you throughout the night like watching over a precious baby.

That's how I am to you?

Yes, a precious baby we don't want to let out of our sight. You are never out of our sight. We are there before you call out for us. We are comforting before you ask.

I believe our Spirit Guides are there to offer guidance and strength and assistance in all circumstances.
